Mexico has a wide variety of gastronomic options, especially Guadalajara is full of them. Let’s talk about our top 5 of amazing and unique places to eat in Guadalajara, Mexico!

  1. La Boqueria – Gourmet Burgers

La Boqueria is an alternative/hipster spot in the Chapultepec district that sells gourmet burgers. The unique concept is that the burgers have no price, but you pay what you think the burger is worth. We recommend choosing the lamb or pastor burger, as they are ridiculously good.

  1. La Choza – Gourmet Tacos

There are hundreds of taco stalls in Guadalajara, but La Choza is not a typical taco place. This place stands out for its specialisation in gourmet tacos, a very different category of tacos that many people don’t even know about. The tacos are huge and they use only prime and exotic meats, such as chorizo from Argentina and duck. They also use venison and octopus. Fun fact, this taco shop has a fun ritual where they ring a bell and yell “gracias!” when customers tip. You can visit the taco stand in Chapultepec.

  1. Furter Hot Dogs Gourmet – Gourmet German/Mexican Fusion Hot Dogs

A fusion where Mexican and German styles come together to create a delicious food combination. You can order hot dogs to your liking with different toppings. You can visit Furter at different locations in Guadalajara, Zapopan and Tlaquepaque.

4. Dicake/Dolce Polla/Santa Polla – Cake

An entirely new concept that has come to the center of Guadalajara all the way from Spain. You can get cakes in the shape of a penis, which is a rather strange and tasty but fun experience.

5. Casa Bariachi – Mexican food

If you want the whole Mexican experience, you should go to Casa Bariachi. There you can eat typical Mexican food like tacos, quesadillas, birria and more. While you eat, listen to Mariachis bands playing typical Mexican music.
