Our favorite neighborhoods to check out
La Condesa: a trendy international neighborhood with parks, hip cafes, and bars.
Zona Rosa: the place to grab drinks and enjoy the nightlife!
La Roma: a mix of art, colonial architecture, and the best local restaurants.
Polanco: more of an upscale neighborhood. Perfect for a Sunday stroll, shopping (check out the Antara mall), or fine dining restaurants.
Historic Center: the ‘heart’ of Mexico City. The place to check out the Spanish architecture, markets, and cultural landmarks like the Zócalo, Bellas Artes, Templo Mayor, and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
Coyacan: a historic neighborhood known for its cobblestone streets, colorful houses, Frida Kahlo Museum, and the best marketplaces.

Frëims: all-day brunch in the middle of the neighborhood La Condesa.
El Mayor: enjoy authentic Mexican breakfast with panoramic views of the historic ruins in the Historic Center. Make sure to come early as this hotspot usually has a long line.
El Moro: must try churros with hot chocolate!
RosaNegra: dinner but make it Tulum style! Enjoy a fusion of Latin American foods in a chic setting. If you come for dinner during the weekend, this usually turns into a fun place for pre-drinks.

Supra Roma Rooftop: trendy rooftop with great city views. Come during the sunset and enjoy the life DJ on the weekend.
Departamento: a fun electronic live music club with different dance floors, a small rooftop and food for when you get hungry.
Sunday Sunday: THE place to go on for a Sunday brunch party.
Hanky Panky Cocktail Bar: a speakeasy with some of Mexico City’s best cocktails.
LooLoo: large nightclub with local and international DJ’s.
Weekend activities
Xochimilco: gather your friends and head over to the south of the city for a colorful boat ride on ancient canals.
Lucha Libre: experience the thrilling spectacle of Mexican wrestling at Arena Mexico. Head over to the website of Ticketmaster to reserve your tickets ahead of time. By arrival to the Arena, you can redeem your tickets at one of the kiosks. Be aware of fake tickets being sold outside the Arena.
Museums: Museo Nacional de Antropologia, Museo Frida Kahlo, Museo Soumaya, Museo Templo Mayor, Museo Jumex, and Museo Nacional de Historia.
Teotihuacan: take a day trip to these ancient pyramids located just outside of Mexico City. The site includes the massive Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon.
Whether you want to explore the historic neighborhoods, eat taco’s until you absolutely can’t anymore, or spend your Friday evenings partying, there’s always something to do during your time as a student in Mexico City.
