Founded in Mexico with Dutch roots

A little backstory about how Internship in Mexico started, told by its founder, Sunny. 

Let me introduce myself
Internship in Mexico was founded by me, Sunny, a girl from a small town in the Netherlands who is discovering the world. I have already lived in Belgium and Germany and have been living in Mexico since 2019.

The beginning
I began my adventure in Mexico by studying abroad at the ITESO University of Guadalajara, not knowing what to expect from Mexico. The experience overwhelmed me so much that I decided to stay another semester to do my graduate internship, which I completed at a financial consulting firm in Guadalajara. To say I had an amazing time would be an understatement. I had the most amazing and incredible experience here in Mexico because I made new friends from all over the world and learned a new culture and language.

What’s next?
Mexico just amazed me, so I decided to start my own business. The idea came from people asking me for help finding internships and my growing love for Mexico. In my work, I use my international relations and communication skills. Helping and talking to people is my favorite thing to do. I am a social bee and enthusiast who never sits still.

Why Mexico?

I want to transmit that Mexico is a beautiful country, worth getting to know and with many opportunities. And above all, showing that Mexico is not at all what people initially think.

It may sound corny, but I’m confident that Mexico will steal your heart. Don’t think, just do it!
